The Service Consultant provides comprehensive consultation and expertise to our customers by orchestrating program changes from start to finish. Ability to liaise with highly technical internal teams and share recommendations to a non-technical audience will be key. A strong curiosity muscle is a must as you strive to understand the heart of the customer ask and deliver the right solution to drive change.
As a Service Consultant at SMG, this is what you will do:
- Be the primary point of contact for a client for a specific service request.
- Use technical knowledge and understanding to identify asks that are in and out of scope
- Manage all customer communications, including status meetings, ongoing discovery, testing procedures and project completion
- Monitor issues and risks to the project and communicate timely resolution to internal and external stakeholders
- Create and maintain all project artifacts, including charters, project plans, risk logs, and closure documentation
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of our best practices and solutions and be able to clearly articulate business value
- Engage internal technical support at the right level to define and complete requirements
You are a perfect match for the role if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years’ of customer-facing experience
- Consulting or experience building relationships with executive leadership
- Impeccable customer services skills and ability to build positive relationships
- Proficient with applicable software applications, specifically project management software (Asana, Workfront, Smartsheet, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Strong aptitude for technical software products and navigating technical solutions
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Experience with a consulting firm, market research company, or other service-based organization is a plus
- Adequate understanding of technical concepts to properly document requirements for solution delivery teams
- Curiosity to ask the right questions to get to the root cause or challenge
- The ability to break down technical solutions to a non-technical audience
- Experience managing projects end-to-end with a high rate of on-time and in-scope deliverables
- Practice running status calls and keeping both external + internal teams focused on the tasks at hand
