We are looking for a Multi Skills Technician, to be based in Somalia. The candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in motor vehicle transport operations or related areas. Experience in international operations in a post-conflict environment is desirable.
The selected candidate must be able to:
- Track and monitor Transport resources usage and allocation of all UNOE & MHE in Sectors at each sector in absence of the RTO.
- Ensure Umoja- Service Notifications, Service Orders are raised and updated on a timely manner after receiving a quote and physical inspection report from AMS, initiate the correct reservation for the spare parts with PID’s in the Sector Warehouse as per availability of vehicle fleets for repair and maintenance, follow up periodic schedule maintenance of Sector FOB’s Fleet.
- Communicate with Central Warehouse Section colleagues for Transfer Requests on required spare parts of UNOE & MEU vehicles, update and send to SPD Team monthly available stock holdings in the Transport Inventories.
- Physical verification of inventory of non-expendable assets to be conducted in a quarterly basis in accordance with the procedures and PCIU checklist.
- Ensure Vehicle Fleet Inventory and distribution of non-expendable Transport assets, correct use of vehicle fleet, and HEU Plant Equipment in accordance to the SOP of UNSOS.
- Weekly coordination with Supply chain/CWS conduct expendable stores inventory checks in all warehouse locations and determine to accrue spares requirements balances, with all cost and specifications.
- Monitor oils and lubricants usage in the workshop through the establishment and use of workshop issue tally sheets.
- Ensure efficient hours are quoted by the TPM contractor (AMS) and MHE contractor RAI while repairing/maintaining of all UNOE Transport Fleet daily checks and close monitoring on the daily operation of the vehicles and equipment used by the MHE contractor.
- Daily coordination briefing and meeting with the Workshop Supervisor and MHE Supervisor for the task of the day-to-day activities on the ground for TPT, usage, and repair of Plant Equipment and MHE for sector stabilization projects, and Engineering ongoing construction work of OHP, containerized OHP accommodation for contractors, water distribution, runway, and airport dispatch service request by clients communicate with MOVCON on cargo flights and offloading by K-Loader.
- Plan and provide, reliable, sufficient prompt vehicle support on a cost recovery basis to UNCT, and support DSS section for field mission planning with available AVs.
- Vehicle recovery services with reliable, sufficient, prompt vehicle and equipment support and transport services to Sector–wide clients.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the daily Transport operation, as well as an understanding of how that impacts the other entities of contact.
- Promptly respond to incidents and other events, as necessary.
- Assist in identifying, diagnosing, and rectifying various faults.
- Assist with the identification of required parts.
- Follows all relevant safety procedures when repairing and fitting replacement parts.
