Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and organized Ground Operations Manager to lead our operations in Aden Adde International Airport Mogadishu, Somalia. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all ground operations activities associated with our general cargo and charter flights to and from Mogadishu, Somalia as well as central regions of Somalia. This is a senior management role that requires a strong leader with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise the overall ground operations at Mogadishu, Somalia, ensuring adherence to company standards, policies, and procedures.

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate ground service activities such as fueling, loading/unloading cargo, catering, maintenance, ground handling, and security.

• Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders, including government authorities, airport authorities, ground handling agents, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, safety standards, security protocols, and customs requirements.

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize ground operations, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance and service quality.

• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.

• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), providing timely reports and recommendations to senior management.

• Lead and motivate a team of ground operations staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high productivity and adherence to company standards.

• Oversee the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures to ensure a swift and effective response to potential incidents or emergencies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of progressive experience in ground operations management within the aviation industry, preferably in cargo and charter operations.

• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, safety standards, security protocols, and customs procedures.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.

• Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities, capable of handling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

• Proficiency in relevant computer software applications and operational systems.
