Job Description
The Project Assistant is responsible for field level implementation, monitoring, and supervision of day-to-day activities for CSSP- UNICEF/KFW funded project in Diisoor District, Bay Region.
Generic responsibilities:
- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
- Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action.
- Prepare and develop field visit reports as required by management.
- Ensure proper filing of documents.
- Use initiative in day-to-day problem solving in line with agreed procedures, priorities, and standards for the area of work.
- Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders.
- Communicate timely and adequately of any concerns that threats the smooth operation of program and advise of possible course of actions to take.
- Administer working advances, field-based resource person's payments and participants' activity payments in compliance with NRC policy.
Specific responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, coordination & engagement with the Authorities and other key stakeholders in the target communities.
- Mobilization, targeting and registration of PLWs from District health facilities through MCH in charges.
- Supervise and train enumerators & field monitors during data collections and mobilizations.
- Establish VRCs and train on selection criteria (PLWs) and identification processes.
- Mobilization of PLWs on CSSP programme, and linking PLWs to health, and nutrition services.
- Support in referral-based targeting & pathways and divide into cohorts.
- Deduplicate analysis and Verification of PLWs data after registration exercise.
- Validation of PLWs lists and arrange validation events to VRCs, MCHs in charges and District Authority.
- Reconcile PLWs names/numbers with Hormud registration set before release of funds.
- Place CRFM hotline number in health facilities and other visible sites, and report immediately any Sensitive cases to the management.
- Schedule, attend, and document project meeting minutes.
- Prepare and process casual staff payments/incentives.
- Prepare and process monthly payment transfer lists for the PLWS.
- Represent NRC in district or regional coordination/ Cluster meetings and share CSSP progresses.
- Any other task assigned by supervisor.
Generic professional competencies for this position:
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in social science, nutrition, public Health and or another related field.
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
- Experience in social safety net cash transfers in Somalia.
- Community mobilizations and engagements.
- Previous experience working in complex and hard to reach areas.
- Documented results related to the position's responsibilities
- Knowledge of English and local Language-Somali
- Knowledge of the context in Southwest state Somalia is an essential
- Experience of working with INGO in a similar capacity will be an added advantage
