On behalf of our client, Shaqo Kaab Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated HR Junior Associate to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various HR functions, including recruitment and selection processes; HR personnel and administration management; compensations and benefits, orientation and onboarding; employee performance and evaluations; training and development; establishing a learning plan; and conducting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of HR operations and supporting the company's overall objectives and business strategies.

Job Specification Brief:

This job specification outlines the key responsibilities and requirements for the HR Junior Associate position concerning recruitment and selection process, HR personnel and administration, payroll and compensations for local and international employees, maintaining employee records, recruiting new employees, creating a salary grade, orientation and onboarding, employee performance and evaluations, training and development, and KPI monitoring. To excel in this role, the applicant should be an excellent communicator in both Somali and English, with in-depth proficiency in the recruiting process and knowledge of the Republic of Somaliland Labour Act and Regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment and Selection Process:
  • Assist in job posting creation, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.

  • Coordinate with department managers to understand their staffing needs and requirements.

  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.

  1. HR Personnel and Administration:
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.

  • Assist in handling employee relations issues and grievances.

  • Support the HR Manager in developing and implementing HR initiatives and programs.

  1. Payroll and Compensations (Benefits):
  • Process payroll accurately and on time.

  • Manage employee benefits administration and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in conducting salary benchmarking and analysis (Salary Grade System).

  1. Orientation and Onboarding:
  • Facilitate new employee orientation sessions for both local and international staff.

  • Develop onboarding programs and materials to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.

  • Coordinate with relevant departments to provide necessary training and resources.

  1. Employee Performance and Evaluations:
  • Facilitating and supporting the performance management process, including goal setting, performance appraisals, and feedback sessions.

  • Tracking and evaluating employee performance metrics.

  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on performance-related matters.

  1. Training and Development (Learning Plan):
  • Identify training needs and develop a comprehensive learning plan.

  • Coordinate training programs and activities to enhance employee skills and competencies.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives.

  1. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • Establishing KPIs for HR functions and monitoring progress towards achieving set targets.

  • Generate reports and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and performance excellence.

Qualifications:

  1. BBA in Human Resources Management or a related role is preferred.

  2. Proven experience in HR management or recruitment roles, with a strong knowledge and understanding of the Republic of Somaliland Labour Act (legislation and payroll processes).

  3. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing administrative tasks and HR records.

  4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

  5. Knowledge of relevant labour laws and regulations applicable to HR practices in Somaliland.

  6. Familiarity with HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations.

  7. Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

  8. Proficiency in MS Office suite and HR software applications.

  9. Proficiency in Somali and English languages, both written and spoken.
