Role Purpose:

The Field Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of field activities in various project locations. The role involves working closely with local communities, stakeholders, and team members to ensure the successful execution of projects. The Field Coordinator will be the primary point of contact in the field and will ensure that all activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Implementation:

  • Coordinate and supervise field activities in accordance with project plans and timelines.

  • Ensure all project activities are carried out in compliance with Himma Consultancy Ltd.'s standards and guidelines.

  • Facilitate community meetings, focus groups, and stakeholder consultations.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with local communities, government officials, and other stakeholders.

  • Represent Himma Consultancy Ltd. in meetings with local authorities and partners.

  • Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks.

  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project progress and collect data.

  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on field activities and project progress.

  • Team Coordination:

  • Lead and support field teams, ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance to perform their tasks.

  • Conduct training sessions for field staff on project implementation and M&E techniques.

  • Logistics and Administration:

  • Manage the logistics of field operations, including transportation, accommodation, and procurement of necessary materials.

  • Ensure all field expenses are documented and reported in accordance with financial procedures.

  • Safety and Security:

  • Ensure that all field activities are conducted in a safe and secure manner.

  • Monitor the security situation in the field locations and report any incidents or concerns to the Project Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in field coordination or a similar role, preferably in conflict-impacted or transitional societies.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and M&E frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
  • Proficiency in English and Somali (both written and spoken).

  • Ability to travel frequently to remote and potentially insecure areas.
